Questions for Erik Engebretsen, Head of Engineering

HOW DOES THE DESIGN OF YOUR TECHNOLOGY DIFFER TO YOUR COMPETITORS?
The technology is inherently flexible in its design and manufacture as we use standard methods from the printed circuit board (PCB) industry. We could, in principle, design a fuel cell, find a PCB manufacturer in any part of the world and have a completely bespoke fuel cell design within a week. Moreover, this circumvents our need for large capital investment in manufacturing facilities, as we are building on the existing supply chain for PCB manufacturers. This could make us one of the largest manufacturer of fuel cells in the world, all without the need to build a factory!
DO YOU HAVE ANY OTHER UPCOMING PROJECTS YOU WOULD LIKE TO TELL US ABOUT?
One of the most exciting projects we are currently working on is the development of a fuel cell as a range extender for a delivery van. This not only gives us our first exposure to the automotive industry, what’s seen as the crown jewel for most fuel cell companies, but it gives me the opportunity to develop systems from around 10 W all the way to 5 kW. It’s a thoroughly challenging, demanding, and rewarding task!
