  • Electrolysis and Platforms Technician More

    We are looking for a Technician to join our Electrolysis and Platforms team helping to develop PCB based water electrolysers and new electrochemical devices. The Technician role will be required to assist with cell/stack builds, material and electrochemical testing, along with test rig set up and maintenance. For new technologies, the role will involve supporting the science and engineering teams to develop tests as well as conducting quality assessment processes.

    The successful applicant will also be expected to support other areas of the business as required by business needs. This is a hands-on role, based on-site in our facility in Crawley working in a production / wet chemical laboratory environment. The ideal candidate will have very good attention to detail, an ability to work in a safe manner with handle chemicals/compressed gasses and perform new tasks to a high standard. All required training will be supplied.

    • To assemble materials for testing of Bramble Energies electrolysers
    • To undertake testing and development of Platform products
    • Work to ensure on time delivery for production and project deliveries
    • Undertake and assist in improvement of QA/QC processes
    • Ensure documentation and records are maintained

    Person Specification

    • Practical laboratory or production experience desirable
    • Excellent attention to detail
    • Work with a safety-focused mindset ensuring compliance with COSHH and similar processes
    • Comfortable conducting precise operations with chemicals, gases and delicate materials

    Qualifications

    • Experience working in a technical production or laboratory environment
    • Experience handling chemicals, industrial gases or similar would be ideal
    • Practical hands-on experience with mechanical, chemical and/or electrical experimental development
    • Detailed record keeping with excellent attention to detail
    • Self-starter able to work autonomously and communicate well
    • Knowledge of electrochemical principles or devices such as fuel cells, electrolysers, and batteries would be an asset

  • Junior/ Senior Technical Specialist – Fuel Cells More

    We are looking for a Technical Specialist (Fuel Cells) to join our expanding technology team – this role is based on-site in our facility in Crawley.

    The Technical Specialist will play a pivotal role in developing the Bramble Energy core fuel cell stack technology. The role will suit an applicant with a background in working (e.g. designing, prototyping & testing) with PEM fuel cell technologies.

    • Development & optimisation of core Bramble Energy fuel cell technology
    • Providing technical direction to Bramble PCBFC stack development and delivery projects ​
    • Working to deliver objectives of Bramble Energy technology strategies/roadmaps
    • Specification & design of new Bramble FC solutions (cascaded from customer requirements​)​
    • Communicating regularly with internal teams via technical reports & presentations
    • Make key contributions in strengthening Bramble Energy’s IP portfolio

    Person Specification

    • PhD in PEM fuel cell discipline with relevant industry experience
    • Experienced in working in a R & D environment (amongst specialists in their own field)
    • Proven track record in working across multi-disciplined technical teams
    • Proven technological innovator – both in IP development & problem solving

    Qualifications

    Essential

    • Practical experience in developing PEM fuel cell technology
    • Experience of PEM fuel cell stack assembly, technical fault diagnosis & problem solving
    • Operation of specialised FC test rigs & instrumentation in a hydrogen laboratory environment
    • Familiar with addressing key challenges of fuel cell stack and system design/specification
    • Familiar with real-world challenges of PEM fuel cell stacks & systems
    • Experience of designing & developing key PEM fuel cell components  – e.g. – MEAs, membranes, gas diffusion layers & flow plates – (from CAD design through to production via 3D printing, CNC etc.)

    Desired

    • Designing PEMFC validation protocols (startup, rapid conditioning, accelerated stress testing etc.)
    • Use of advanced electrochemical diagnostic methods (cyclic voltammetry, impedance spectroscopy etc.) to analysis FC performance
    • Strong project management skills via Jira, MS Project etc)
    • Familiar with manufacturing methods for FC MEAs
    • Experience of writing Labview software is a particular advantage
    • Published author of technical papers/patent applications etc
